Magic

London Children’s Magician Christopher Howell

Christopher Howell’s children’s magician act is something special on the menu of children’s party entertainment options in London for children ages 4-7, available for booking in your home or party venue.  Children’s magicians are often known for their rude jokes and encouraging children to go crazy as they bounce off the walls of your home; instead (perhaps by magic) this show keeps kids totally captivated and entertained by engaging their vibrant imaginations.

Kids Magician and Magic Master, Chad Wonder

I’m master magician Chad Wonder and my stunning kids magic shows have made childrens magic birthdays fun and magical in the Denver area for over 25 years. I am also honored to be the resident magician at historic Heritage Square Kids Amusement Park in Golden Colorado where I perform during the summer season.

As a family and kids magician, I perform a number of different magic shows. Although I concentrate on kids birthday parties in and around the Denver metro area, I also perform for schools, daycare centers, scouting events and senior care facilities from Lakewood to Littleton and Aurora to Broomfield all across the metro area Parker, Centennial, Westminster, and Boulder

With thousands of kids magic shows performed, and countless magic events on my resume, I have the experience necessary to make any kids birthday party or event a truly special day.

I am a past local president (2006) of the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. I have also served as the Vice President (2005) Secretary (2010) and am currently serving as Vice President for 2011.

I owned and operated The Magic Shop in Colorado Mills Mall up until 2007 when it made more sense to devote 100% of my time to performing.

I have been involved in children’s and kids entertainment since the age of ten when I was cast as a founding player in the Colorado Children’s Theater Ensemble. During high school I started a successful kids/children’s theater group performing over 250 day care center shows a year. My professional career started when I performed my first paying show at age sixteen.

On a personal level, I have been married for over 20 years to my high school sweetheart and we have two boys, 9 and 14. My oldest was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and we are learning to live with a life long disease. He loves video games and science. My youngest is a sport fanatic, most recently playing lacrosse, which is a pretty cool game I must admit. My wife is very private. ;)

Rants and Raves

“I have to admit, I was a little worried it would be too young, too cheesy, or not worth it. But you were totally worth it, and you handled the middle school spazz pretty well. Thanks, it was great”

Julia, Denver, CO

“What a great show, we’ll have you back for our youngest party in a couple years.”

Michelle, Highlands Ranch, CO

“All the kids loved the show. They had a lot of fun with the magic sets after you left. Thanks for making may boys party the hit of the school year.”

Stacy, Lakewood, CO

“I was so pleased to have the entire 6th grade audience captivated for a whole hour!  Having Chad Darnell as the featured magician was awesome and he was great!  He was able to relate to the kids well and the magic was wonderful.  After the show the kids still couldn’t figure out how he did the tricks!  From the moment I talked to him on the phone to the time he did the show, Mr. Darnell was courteous, prompt, and organized.  I couldn’t have asked for a better Valentine’s Day entertainer!  Thank you very much!”

Traci J. and the entire Hutchinson 6th grade staff and classrooms!  :)
“What a great end to our school year. The 6th graders could not have had a better end of year party. Maybe we can do it again next year?”

Elementary School PTA

“Our holiday party was a lot of fun thanks in part to your magic and your roast of our employees. Thanks you”

National Fitness Franchise

“Chad was the entertainment at my daughter’s 7th birthday party, and he could be a stand-up comic in addition to the amazing magic skills. All the kids were thrilled – he is really terrific with children. He also had the adults laughing almost to tears. He set up a large stage backdrop that made it feel like a really official show, and afterwards, sat the kids down and taught them how to do magic tricks with the kits he provided for them to take home. I got so many positive comments – both fomr parents who were there and from ones who were amazed at their kids doing tricks and raving about the magic show. Definitely our best birthday move yet. Thanks, Chad!”

Kids Magic Birthday Party Show

Kids magic and family friendly entertainment is my specialty. My discounted shows range from $200.00 to more than $300.00 depending upon the day and what you might add-on.

When I was selected as Nickelodeons Entertainer of the Year, it was a truly humbling recognition of my 30 years as a childrens magician and entertainer. My selection of interactive and premium kids magic and family friendly magic include kids birthday parties, school shows, scout shows and corporate and company celebrations.

1. Full Length Kids Magic Show at your home or for your event is my most popular. Over 45 minutes of premium stunning childrens magic. Colorful scarfs appear from nowhere, a pretend wolf runs and can’t be found, an impossible game with giant crayons and the grand finale, where the birthday child can be sawed in half with the “Saw of Danger” or a real rabbit appears. All this and much more! The birthday child is always the star of the show and helps the magician Chad Wonder with most of the tricks. Plenty of great “Kodak moments” Music, big magic props, huge stage backdrop and more. I keep the kids involved!

2. Condensed Half Hour Kids Magic Show in your home: Almost 30 minutes of great magic at an slightly lower price. Good if your on a time budget. Substantially similar to the Full Length Show but featuring about 75% of the magic. Of course the birthday child is always the the star of the show and helps the magician with many of the magic tricks.

Society of American Magicians

The Society of American Magicians, founded on May 10, 1902 in Martinka’s famous magic shop in New York City, New York, is the oldest and most prestigious magical society in the world. For over a century it has promoted the ideals shared by Kellar, Houdini, Thurston and over 30,000 others world-wide who have held membership in the society. These ideals include the elevation of the Art of Magic, the promotion of harmony among magicians, and the opposition of the unnecessary public exposure of magical effects.

The S.A.M. offers the opportunity to unite and associate with leaders in the World of Magic – not only professionals, but with amateurs, manufacturers, magic dealers, book authors and magic collectors. Through its monthly publications, annual conventions, and with over 250 “Assemblies” throughout the world, the S.A.M. provides the necessary forum for the advancement of magic through discussions, lectures, research, performances, and exchange of magic secrets within the magic community. To promote these endeavors the S.A.M. presents awards and fellowships in recognition of outstanding achievement in the Art of Magic.

If you have a serious interest in the Art of Magic then you, too, can follow in the footsteps of Harry Houdini, Harry Blackstone, Jr., Siegfried & Roy, Lance Burton and David Copperfield by joining the most prestigious magical organization in the world – The Society of American Magicians.

Mile High Magicians

The Mile High Magicians Society is a Denver-based association of magical enthusiasts dedicated to enjoying, appreciating and advancing the art of magic.  Our interests are as diverse as the art of magic itself.  We are amateurs, hobbyists, professionals, performers, spectators, collectors, teachers and students.  We always consider ourselves students because magic is a constantly evolving art.

We love the boldness of a new illusion and we smile at the subtleties produced by manipulating a deck of cards.  We marvel at the years of practice required to demonstrate flawless sleight-of-hand techniques.  Watching a skilled magician perform overwhelms us with emotion.  We laugh, we rejoice, we applaud.  We are surprised, delighted, captivated and enthralled.  We see wonder through the eyes of a child — a childhood we’ve never left.

Our performing members share their magic in many ways: From entertaining family, friends and neighbors, to street performances, to children’s birthday parties, at restaurants and banquets, at corporate events and on the speaking platform.

We meet monthly (and frequently more often through lectures, events, etc.) and regularly arrange for first-rate performers from around the world to perform and lecture for our members.  We are a local chapter of both international magic organizations, the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) and the Society of American Magicians (SAM).

If you appreciate the art of magic, share our sense of fun, excitement and wonder (and can keep a few secrets!), we would welcome you as a guest or as a new member of our organization. Each of us started in that very same way.

Reinke Brothers (Magic “shop”)

The Reinkes’ Story

Back in 1968 Greg and Chris Reinke started exploring the “Haunted Attraction” business at the local fishing hole. Their father didn’t like fishing so the boys were on their own. After a full day of floating worms Greg and Chris began their glorious career by hooking their first business asset, a shopping cart. After a rigorous cleaning of their new equipment the boys set up shop, in the basement of their parent’s home. Borrowing a plaster skull from their older brother Don, and their father’s footlocker for a coffin they began to construct the walls, blankets hung from the rafters of their new empire.

Halloween was fast approaching and they were anticipating a great season. Soon their first customers approached. Ding-dong the doorbell rung and the first of their twenty-six clients of the evening were paying their penny and descending the stairs to the basement. “Climb in and be prepared to be scared” Greg would exclaim. Pushing the cart through the maze of blankets, props and scenes Greg would pull strings to cause movement in each room to terrorize their clients. Strings were cutting edge of animatronics at the time. As Chris fed the extension cord, which ran the electrical grid for the “Mansion of Terror”, providing power to the strobe light mounted on the front of the cart (It was a good effect).

Soon the woman who vaulted the brothers into the limelight came to the door. Not being able to climb into the cart she began her walking experience and with amazement she asked, “What would you charge to build this Haunted House for Saint Mary’s Carnival?” Greg thought quickly and said “Fifty dollars.” The boy’s career had begun!

The moral of the story is, teach your kids to fish!

Do you teach magic?

Absolutely. I teach both one on one and also at the American Music school in Lakewood, CO. Call me to details (303) 909-6226
