A Magician’s Attire
When you think of a magician or an Illusionist there are certain types of clothes that automatically come to your mind on what they will be wearing. When you were younger, you knew if they came out in a cape and top hat, then they were a magician and you were about to see some really neat tricks. An illusionist has a broader attire since they may be wearing slacks, shirt and vest, but, the clothing will have bright colors or stones sewn into the outfit it so it sparkles as it catches the lights.
Depending on where the performance is taking place will dictate the type of attire that is going to be worn by the person. This makes sense since we all do the same thing in our daily lives. In Las Vegas, this attire may not what you expect and if you were to see some of the street entertainers then they would probably be wearing jeans and a t-shirt, for example Criss Angel, when he does his levitation tricks it is normally walking around stopping people in his jeans.
If you were to see Vitelli performing his magic then you would expect more of a black suit as he performs on stage. If it were David Copperfield you were watching then you would see slacks and vest with a flowing white shirt because he using his arms elaborately and the lights catch the rhinestones in his outfit.
When you hire a magician for a child’s birthday party then you would see the normal cape and top hat since it is what the children are used to seeing and what they know and associate with a magician. Looking at the internet at some of the advertisements, you will be amazed to see some of the vests that the magicians are wearing; pretty cool actually, they are getting away from the standard black.
As the times change so do the outfits and costumes, but, there are some costumes that simply define the position of the person you are about to see and if you had a mirror in your hand at that moment you would see yourself smiling because you would know that you were about to see some magic!
